It's inspiring to see the work of a young artist like Natalie Brown who paints boldly and surely. She's in school this semester painting fiercely on a new body of work. Can't wait to see!

Also can't wait to see more from the mind and hands of Robert Shinn, who is currently having a show in Tulsa.

Fayetteville Underground's current visiting artist, Judy Maurer, has added a nice balance of traditional landscape to the galleries. Judy will be in Arizona for the Winter, but her work will stay in Studio 2.

Delightful!

More and more people are noticing the extraordinary work of David Bachman. His experimental line wanders over the new 'You Tell Me' series like a slug on the sidewalk, bringing a surprise and closer look . . . These just released images are mixed media on paper, all in 5 x 7 inch format.

Lots of variety at the Fayetteville Underground, in both artwork and activities, largely thanks to our intrepid leader, Samantha.
Regular events include the Friday Morning Portrait Group which has been meeting on Friday mornings. Various artists from the community at large come to draw or paint from a 3 hour portrait sitting. All are welcome to participate.
Below is a photo from last week's session:

First Thursday

What a great way to blast into 2014!
A serene front gallery installation by Nicole Howard has been much anticipated, and it delivers 100%.

Nicole's inspired ceramic vessels are home for various perennial plants: creeping Thyme, chili peppers and succulents.

The Main Gallery features paintings by our newest artist Stephanie Petet:

Stephanie's paintings adorned the stage alcove on the New Year's Celebration "Last Night," which featured Word Wars, Phunbags, and other Comedy performances. On New Year's Day, poetry readings infused the Underground with verbal images as well.
As always, there are plenty of surprises. Do come and see!
